BMW launches its M Performance Diesel range

Not one but four new high performance Diesels will be joining BMW’s M division line-up following BMW confirmation on M550d xDrive Sedan and Touring, X5 M50d and X6 M50d to join the other performance models in its showrooms later this year.  Whilst different in many ways one thing that brings these five examples closer than ever is the all new Triple Turbo 280kW Diesel engine with BMW 8-speed automatic transmission that is guaranteed to provide in area of performance with figures that speak for themselves with 4.7s 0-100km being the fastest for M550d xDrive Sedan and 4.9s being the slowest for X5 550d in 0-100km/h testing but unlike its petrol performance counterparts fuel consumption is another area where BMW’s triple-turbo starts to shine with 6.3L/100km being the lowest for M550d xDrive Sedan and 7.7L/100km being the highest for X6 M50d. All models come equipped with fuel saving BMW EfficientDynamics technology that includes but is not limited to Eco Pro mode that BMW claims can reduce vehicle fuel consumption by up to 20% and engine stop/start function. Stay tuned for more information on BMW M Performance Diesels.
